I am so proud of all the hard work all my students have been doing. I have a great class this year! This coming week is very exciting. In math we will begin solving problems involving 2 digit by 1 digit and 2 digit by 2 digit multiplication. It is extremely important for everyone to know their basic facts to solve these types of problems. If your child has not yet mastered his/her facts please make sure he/she practices every night. In science we will continue working with forces and studying the effects they have on objects. During social studies we will continue to study colonization and independence in Texas. In our language arts block we will write another expository paper. Students will be asked to write about a role model. During reading we will discuss cause and effect situations, text structure, and summarization using a variety of texts. Math homework will be given on Monday and Wednesday, vocabulary sentences and spelling will be assigned on Tuesday, and summary writing and spelling homework will be given on Thursday. Please make sure that your child is reading every night and practicing his/her spelling words. Don’t forget our Explorer Excellence Awards Ceremony is on Tuesday at 8:40 in the cafeteria. Have a wonderful weekend!
Mrs. Drain
