March 17 - 21

We only have two full weeks until we take the Writing STAAR Test on April 1st and 2nd. That means we have a lot of prep work to do. After Spring Break in math, students will review multiplication. During science, they will study adaptations. In social studies, students will learn about the Civil War and how it impacted Texas. In reading, we will continue to study dramas. We will also take the practice reading STAAR test on Tuesday, March 18th. During writing, students will be working very hard to prepare for the upcoming STAAR test. We will complete revising/editing passages daily, and we will also write many personal narratives and expository compositions. Writing homework will be given on Tuesday and Thursday. Math will still be Monday and Wednesday. In order to make sure every child is prepared, it is imperative that everyone is present everyday for the next several weeks. I want all my students to have the opportunity to be successful. One last thing, don't forget early release is Wednesday, March 19th. As always, feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns. Have a wonderful weekend and a restful Spring Break!

Mrs. Drain
