I can’t believe October has come and gone! We have had a great past two months of school. This coming week in math we will continue developing strategies for basic division facts using problem solving. In science we will finish up our electricity unit and begin studying force. During social studies we will study colonization of Texas. In language arts we will finish our expository writing and begin a poetry unit where we discuss different types of poems and elements of poetry. On Monday we will have math homework, and spelling words will be assigned for the week. Also, report cards will be sent home on Monday. On Tuesday and Thursday your child will have only spelling homework. We will not be writing vocabulary sentences or summaries this week. Wednesday’s homework will include a math worksheet and spelling sentences. Please remind your child to read at least 20 minutes every night. Also, next week we will begin a typing unit. Students will use Learning.com to learn basic typing skills. This website will be introduced on Tuesday in the computer lab and can be accessed at home after that. I will put the link on my blog next week after I introduce it. Have a wonderful weekend, and as always feel free to contact me should you have any questions.
