February 27 - March 2

I can’t believe we are already in the last week of February. This coming week will be very busy. In math, we will finish our measurement unit and take a test on Friday. We will also review concepts taught from the beginning of the year because we are taking a practice STAAR math test on Thursday. In science, we will begin our ecosystem unit. This week we will discuss consumers, producers, decomposers, food chains, and food webs. Our social studies time will be used to review math concepts. During our language arts block, we will focus on personal narratives in writing. We will also read and analyze folktales. Homework will follow the usual pattern. Please be sure that your child has a filling and nutritious breakfast on Thursday, March 1st and also arrives on time. We are going to treat our practice STAAR test like the real one. Students will have only 4 hours to complete the test. This time period includes restroom and snack breaks. Our lunch and specials will occur after testing. Please keep in mind that visitors are not allowed on campus during testing days. The fourth grade newsletter lists these days. I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend! As always, feel free to contact me should you have any questions or concerns.
