April 2 - 6

What a successful week! Two tests down and two to go. Next week in math, we will continue our division unit solving problems with no more than three digits in the dividend and one divisor (example 245 ÷ 5).  In science, we will continue to study how plant and animal adaptations enable organisms to survive in their environments. During social studies, we will discuss life in Texas in the 20th century. In our language arts block, we will continue to read Island of the Blue Dolphins by Scott O’Dell.  We will discuss author’s purpose, cause and effect relationships, connections to texts/self/world, inferences, and predictions as we read. We will also write responses to our reading using important vocabulary words. Homework next week will resume the normal pattern, and we will have a spelling test on Thursday. Please don’t forget to join our WBE family at the Spring Festival this Saturday from 2:00-6:00. Thank you for all your support and donations to make Spring Festival a success! Please remember that there is no school on Friday, April 6th. Have a fantastic weekend! As always, feel free to contact me should you have any questions or concerns.
