I am so proud of all the hard work our class has done during our writing workshop week! I am excited for everyone to get a chance to show off their skills next Tuesday and Wednesday when we take the Writing STAAR Test. Each day will have a four hour time limit for. Your child will be asked to answer multiple choice questions and write either a personal narrative or an expository composition on both days. We will begin testing at approximately 8:15 and finish 4 hours later. It is imperative that your child arrives at school on time, if not early, on both days. Please make sure your son/daughter gets plenty of sleep the night before and eats a filling and nutritious breakfast. Breakfast in the cafeteria next week will be free for everyone! The remainder of the week we will be back to our normal schedule. In math, we will begin a division unit. During science, we will start to study adaptations. In our language arts block, we will begin a novel study. Our class will be reading Island of the Blue Dolphins. The only homework next week will be to read for 20 minutes. Please don’t forget about our Saturday writing camp from 9:00-11:00. This is a great opportunity to brush up on a few last minute skills before we take our tests. Also, there is a free breakfast for those who participate! As always, thank you so much for all your support! Have a wonderful weekend and enjoy the weather!
