I am so proud of all the hard work my class has been doing! We are all definitely in need of a break. The week after Spring Break we will focus heavily on writing. All fourth grade classes will transform into a writing workshop. We will still have math and reading in the morning, but after specials we will start our writing work. During this workshop our class will be revising and editing passages as well as competing in revising and editing relays. Students will also write personal narratives and expository papers. Every afternoon we will share our writing either with our class or with another fourth grade class. Revising and editing homework will be sent home every night. We will not have math homework or spelling words during writing workshop. Since this is the week before our STAAR writing test, it is essential that all students come to school on time every day. In addition to writing workshop, fourth grade teachers are hosting a Saturday Writing Camp on March 24th from 9:00-11:00 in the morning. Breakfast will be provided for those who attend! I am looking forward to a fun-filled writing week. Please feel free to contact me should you have any questions. Also, don’t forget to send in donations for our Spring Festival auction baskets. We are in need of items that relate to cooking/baking and fun in the sun. As always, thank you so much for all your support. Have a great Spring Break!
Mrs. Drain
