October 22 - 26

October is flying by! Next week is going to be another very busy week. In math, students will continue to study elapsed time, temperature, and graphs. They will also spend a few days reviewing concepts taught earlier in the year. In science, we will finish our mixtures and solutions unit and began studying types of energy. During social studies, students will continue to study explorers and missions of Texas. In language arts, we will review and write personal narratives. On Thursday, students will take their first writing district CBA (curriculum based assessment). This test covers what we have learned in writing so far this year. In reading, students will practice tracking their thinking while they read and making inferences using text facts/clues. Next Wednesday is early release. Please make arrangements to pick your child up from school by 12:45. Also, next Friday is that last day of the first nine weeks. All assignments must be completed and turned in no later than Friday at 2:45. Report cards will be sent home on Tuesday, November 6th. One last thing...next week is Red Ribbon Week. Everyday is themed to show that we are a drug free school. The themes for each day can be found on the right side of my blog under homework. Please encourage your son/daughter to participate. Thank you to all who donated supplies for our popcorn hand activity! As always, feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns. Have a great weekend!
