Thank you to all who helped make this first week of school so wonderful! I am very excited about the rest of the year! Please remember there is no school on Monday in honor of Labor Day. Next week will be very busy. In math, students will continue to study place value using numbers up to the hundred billions. During science, students will learn about science safety and tools. We will continue to build community during social studies. In writing, students will be working on personal narratives. They will be writing short stories about their personal experiences. During reading, we will study fiction with a focus on characterization. Next Wednesday, September 4th is our Fourth Grade Parent Orientation from 6:00-7:00 in the library. This session will answer all you questions about fourth grade from homework to the STAAR tests. We hope to see you there. Next week we will start our normal homework schedule. Your child will have math homework every Monday and Wednesday and language arts homework every Tuesday and Thursday. Please make sure your child also reads every night for at least 20 minutes and practices his/her multiplication facts. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns. Have a great three day weekend!
Mrs. Drain
