January 13-17

What a wonderful first week back! All my students are working so hard already. Next week the hard work will continue. In math, students will continue to study decimals. During science, students will finish their unit on resources and begin studying weather. In social studies, students will study the Battle of the Alamo. During writing, we will write personal narratives, and in reading we will continue to study folktales, characters, and theme. Homework next week will follow the usual pattern. Please don't forget to join us for the Explorer Excellence Awards Ceremony on Tuesday, January 14 from 8:45-9:15 in the cafeteria. Also, our fourth grade February Kiss-O-Gram Fundraiser will not be successful if we do not have donations and volunteers. If you are able, please send bags Hershey Kisses (no nuts) and plastic sandwich bags to school with your child as soon as possible. A letter about the fundraiser and volunteer opportunities will be sent home on Monday. As always, feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns. Have a wonderful weekend!

Mrs. Drain
