January is racing by! This coming week in math we will begin a geometry unit. Over the next two weeks students will study the essential attributes of two and three dimensional figures, different types of lines, and the three basic angles (acute, right, and obtuse). In science we will continue our weather unit and wrap it up with a test on Friday. During social studies we will discuss the effects that the Civil War had on Texas. In language arts we will continue to study persuasive texts. Students will write a persuasive paper focusing on a school issue of his/her choice. We will also discuss different types of persuasive texts from books and media. Homework will follow the usual pattern. Please don’t forget that all science fair projects are due on Wednesday, January 25, and Science Fair Night is Thursday, January 26. One last thing… fourth grade still needs bags of Hershey Kisses and plastic sandwich baggies for our Kiss-O-Gram fundraiser in February. Please send all donations to school with your child as soon as possible. Thank you all for your support! Have a wonderful weekend!
