February 6 - 10

Another wonderful week has passed us by! This coming week in math we will begin our measurement unit. During the first week of the unit students will estimate and measure the length of objects in both customary and metric units. In science we will finish our water cycle unit and take a test on Friday. During social studies we will continue to study the Civil War and reconstruction in Texas. In our language arts block we will study expository texts. Students will be writing about a lesson he/she has learned. Also, students will study expository elements in a variety of texts. Monday’s homework will include a math worksheet and new spelling words will be sent home. Students will have spelling homework on Tuesday. Math homework will be assigned on Wednesday, and spelling sentences will be assigned based on the past week’s test grade. Students who made a 90 or above on their last spelling test will not have to write spelling sentences. On Thursday an expository reading passage will be sent home. Thank you so much for sending in bags of Hershey kisses and plastic sandwich bags! Our fundraiser would not be possible without you! I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!
