Our first week back was extremely busy, but also very successful! I am so excited about all my students. Next week, we are diving right into our curriculum. In language arts, we will continue to set up our reading and writing workshops. In reading, we will focus on the plot of stories. During writing, we will discuss how to generate a clear idea and how to organize information into an orderly story. In math, students will continue to study the place value in numbers up to the hundred millions place. During science, students will study science safety and learn about all the science tools. Our social studies time is still being used to build community within our classes. Please remember there is no school on Monday in observation of Labor Day. Next Tuesday is our first PTA meeting of the year. Please join us in the cafeteria at 6:30. Also, fourth grade Parent Orientation will be held in the library on Wednesday from 6:00-7:00. We look forward to seeing you all there and answering any questions you might have about fourth grade. I hope everyone has a relaxing weekend.
