Thank you everyone for another successful week and a great turn out at our parent orientation! Next week will be just as busy. In math, students will finish studying place value and take a test on the unit on Tuesday. Then, they will begin studying multiplication. During science, students will continue discussing lab safety and practice these skills with a trip to the science lab on Tuesday from 1:00-1:40. If you would like to help out in the science lab, please contact Ms. Leining. The focus in social studies next week will be on map skills and Texas regions. During the language arts block, students will write their first personal narrative of the year. Every child will be asked to write about a goal he/she has achieved. Also, we will be studying the relationships between characters in fictional texts and how the relationships and characters change throughout the story. Starting on Monday, Ms. Losli will be hosting breakfast club in her classroom every morning from 7:15-7:35. Breakfast is NOT provided, but students are more than welcome to bring breakfast with them. During this time, students will have the opportunity to receive homework help or work on a laptop. Ms. Losli's room is Portable 4B (bright pink door). Her door will be open every morning for all fourth graders. Also, please do not forget about our first PTA meeting on Tuesday, September 11th at 6:30 in the cafeteria. The PTA meeting is followed by a free magic show! Please feel free to contact me should you have any questions or concerns! Thank you for all your support!
Mrs. Drain
